I designed and developed this language learning app which was inspired by my friend who is a native Spanish speaker learning English. Most learning apps still aren’t setup to understand real life speaking with slang, cutting out parts of a sentence, and pop culture references. I included AI to adapt to the learners needs and allow for practicing real world scenarios, and use ElevenLabs voices for clarity.
GLITCH Game
The idea for this app came to me as a parent with a child who lost most of the needed spelling words during the pandemic. I realized that kiddos that missed this 3rd and 4th grade spelling are trying to spell phonetically. This gamified learning app targets learning by eliminating to “trouble letter” when sounding out the word, which quickly addresses the writing gaps.
