I designed and developed this language learning app which was inspired by my friend who is a native Spanish speaker learning English. Most learning apps still aren’t setup to understand real life speaking with slang, cutting out parts of a sentence, and pop culture references. I included AI to adapt to the learners needs and allow for practicing real world scenarios, and use ElevenLabs voices for clarity.
GLITCH Game
The idea for this app came to me as a parent with a child who lost most of the needed spelling words during the pandemic. I realized that kiddos that missed this 3rd and 4th grade spelling are trying to spell phonetically. This gamified learning app targets learning by eliminating to “trouble letter” when sounding out the word, which quickly addresses the writing gaps.

Information the App May Store
The app may store a player callsign or gamer tag, game progress, XP, levels, unlocked items, selected avatar, cosmetics, captured bosses, machine or robot repair progress, spelling practice progress, recent answers, missed words, trouble words, mastery by spelling pattern, and adaptive difficulty level.
This information is used to save progress, personalize the learning experience, adjust spelling difficulty, and allow the user to return to the game later.
Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
- Real names.
- Home addresses.
- Phone numbers.
- Precise location.
- Contacts.
- Photos, camera data, or microphone recordings.
- Payment information.
- Advertising IDs for targeted advertising.
Users should not enter real personal information as their callsign or gamer tag.
Children’s Privacy
This app may be used by children. The app is intended to collect only the limited information needed to operate the spelling game and save learning progress.
We do not knowingly sell children’s personal information. We do not use personalized advertising. We do not knowingly allow children to publicly share personal information through the app.
If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided personal information that should be removed, they may contact us using the privacy contact above.
How Information Is Stored
Game progress may be stored locally on the user’s device. If a backend/server version of the app is enabled, progress may also be stored on the app server so the player can continue later.
Local device data can usually be removed by clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling the app. Server-stored data, if enabled, can be deleted by contacting the privacy contact above.
Adaptive Learning and AI Features
The app may include adaptive spelling features that generate or select spelling practice based on the learner’s level and recent performance. If an online AI-powered word generation feature is enabled, limited learning context, such as grade band, spelling pattern, or recent practice needs, may be sent to an AI service provider to create appropriate spelling practice.
The app should not send real names, addresses, contact information, or other sensitive child information to AI services.
Internet Permission
The Android app may request internet access so it can load app content, sync progress if a backend is enabled, or use adaptive learning services if enabled.
Third-Party Services
The app may rely on platform or development services such as Google Play services and Google Play Console for app distribution, Capacitor/Android WebView technology to run the app on Android, and an AI service provider, such as OpenAI or an OpenAI-compatible API, if adaptive word generation is enabled.
Data Sharing
We do not sell user data. We do not share user data for targeted advertising.
Information may be shared only as needed to operate app features, provide adaptive learning functionality, comply with legal obligations, or protect the app, users, or developer from misuse or security issues.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local game progress remains on the device until the user clears app data or uninstalls the app.
If server-stored progress is enabled, data is kept only as long as needed to provide the app experience, unless a longer period is required by law or security needs. Users or parents may request deletion by contacting the privacy contact above.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect app data. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
